Now that you have setup your blog...it's time to give it a look and feel that matches your blogs niche or persona. In other words, your website or blog should represent and match your persona or brand feel. This can play a vital part in how your readers move from visiting to converting.
Here Are My Tips To A Winning Blog Design:
If you're a beginner Blogger, don't clutter your site with all kinds of Ads
Less is more!!! Have you ever heard that statement before? In this case, it's so true. I've seen blogs site that are annoying simply because the pages are congested with so much information that you don't know where to begin. Leave plenty of white space, this will give your blog aesthetic a nice clean feel and will help your visitors navigate easily inside your blog page
Invest in a Logo (Branding). You can get great looking logos for as low as $5 at Fiverr.
My Recommendation: Get Started with Fiverr for great looking professional logo design!
Make sure to use social sharing buttons on your blog. This gives your reader the ability to share your posts. The cool thing about WordPress is that it has tons of plugins (Tools) that you can install and get the work done.
Step 3. Write Blog Contents For Your Audience
At this point, your blog is setup. The next thing is content. You will need content to showcase to your readers. This content will clearly give your readers an idea of what to expect from your blog.
1. Content Content Content!
Make sure you have enough articles to please your visitors. Once you launch your blog party and invite visitors to your site...the goal is to make sure they stick around longer and visit often. Therefore, the more content the better.
Note: Few benefits of having enough content before launch:
Ensures and create confident in your visitors that you have plenty of articles and entries to keep them returning
Increase the number of people who find your site through search engines
Search engines love content
The success of your blog site is determined (in my opinion) primarily by its content. Ultimately, content wins not only the trust of your readers but also their wallets. All other components of your blog site provide (designs, videos, etc) secondary support role. Good content will set your blog site apart from the masses. The content on your blog site should target your reader, persuade them and engage them to take action.
Step 4: Setting up SEO and Analytics for your Blog site
Now that you have plenty of contents for your blog site, the next step is to setup your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Analytics for your blog site.
Add Google Analytics Code
Why is Google Analytics so important to my blog site? Well the answer is quite simple, to track the behavior of your visitors. Link Your Social Media Platforms
This is a great way to get exposure by having your articles or entries on different social media platforms. It helps the readers by allowing them the option to share your posts.
3. Submit Your Blog Site to Google Search
Step 5. Promote Blog Site
Now it's time to promote your Blog site launch party. With that said, it's time to market and start networking to make this launch a success.
Here are a few ways to get some traffic to your blog site.
1. First place is friends and family!
The best place to get the word out about your blog site is always with friends and family. Friends and family would be more than happy to check out your blog site and share it to their networks of people...which leads me to the next approach (social media).
2. Social Media
Another great avenue of free traffic is social media. You can start by posting links on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to name a few. This approach is great especially when starting out. Family and friends are always supportive and don't mind sharing the links to your blog site with their networks of friends.
3. Guest Posts
Doing a Blog guest post is a great way to also gain exposure for your blog site. This approach opens door to other readers that perhaps might be interested in your Blog niche or topics. Definitely a way to gain free traffic.
With all of this...the goal is to get your readers coming back. This is where Email Marketing comes into play. By collecting the email addresses of your readers...you can then notify them of new recent posts on your blog site. This is one way of keeping them returning regularly and will help build a close relationship with your readers.
